Domus and Surface suppliers to consolidate brands

Domus, the provider of tiles, mosaics, stone and wood, is to merge with sister brand, Surface, to become one consolidated brand, Domus.

The unified brand was announced at the British Institute of Interior Designer’s (BIID) 50th anniversary event in the Battersea showroom on Thursday 26 November, and will be effective from December 2015.

The consolidation means architects and developers can now source creative surface solutions for their projects all under one roof: tile, mosaic, stone and wood.

The merge will expand the Domus showroom network with the Surface showrooms in Battersea, Islington and West Molesey, Surrey joining the existing Domus showrooms in Clerkenwell and London, W1. In each showroom, customers will find the design-led porcelain tiles, mosaics, natural stone and engineered oak. Marketing and operating will be merged.

Jon Newey, CEO at Domus said: “Our aim for the unified Domus brand is to deliver a successful outcome for any design project, both in the UK and internationally, no matter how big or small. “

Previously, Domus has supplied tile, mosaic and stone on projects including Heathrow Terminal 5 and Wembley Stadium as well as Heathrow Terminal 2 and the new American Embassy in Nine Elms.

In March, the group added 100 percent FSC certified engineered oak flooring to its portfolio with an exceptional quality collection made from European White Oak from Poland and finished in Italy.

Other major projects using Domus wood include Battersea Power Station (850 apartments in Phase 1) and Foyles flagship bookstore on Charing Cross Road, London.
